With a new ballpark comes high expectations. Those expectations are heightened when you have teams like the Houston Astros and Washington Nationals. Both are projected to be near the top of their respective divisions but they’ve been at the bottom of the barrel so far this spring.

The Ballpark of The Palm Beaches is the newest spring training facility in Major League Baseball. The stadium serves as the spring training home to both teams and is considered one of the most beautiful baseball parks around.

Perhaps the teams are overwhelmed by their surroundings because they have have been an underwhelming 1-6 combined at the new place.

Wins aren’t important at this early stage, but if they don’t turn it around and start playing better toward the end of the spring, the danger is it might carry over to the start of the regular season.

The Nationals have scored six runs total in the three losses and the Astros have been outscored by 18 in their three defeats.

The Astros look to break in their first win at the park Wednesday against the Mets.
