The Celtics finally passed the Cavaliers for the number one spot in the East.

All season, the Celtics have been chasing the Cavaliers to be at the top of the conference. The Celtics recent one-point win over the Orlando Magic vaulted them over the Cavs. All-Star Isaiah Thomas proved his talent once more by scoring 35-points to lead the team.

The C’s have six more games in the regular season until the playoffs begin and those final games will be challenging. The Celtics match-up against the Cavaliers once more on Wednesday and then face the rapidly improving Milwaukee Bucks.

The Celtics are in the driver’s seat for the top seed, but have to play well down the stretch if the hope to end the season atop the conference standings.

Boston will play the Knicks at Madison Square Garden Sunday afternoon. The Green can’t afford a letdown against the lowly Knicks. At this stage of the season, every game is important.
