It was a battle of the World’s top two players for the Shanghai Masters title. World Number one Rafael Nadal faced off with his top rival, world number two Roger Federer. Federer, the nineteen time major champion would prevail beating the Spaniard in straight sets, 6-4, 6-3. Federer was so dominant he didn’t face a break point against the U.S Open champ. The win gives Federer his 94th career title, tying Ivan Lendl for second place all time in the open era. The loss snapped a 16 match winning streak for Nadal that includes titles at the U.S Open earlier this summer and the China Open last week.
