President Trump published four tweets within two hours on early Tuesday morning, around 4 am, all related to the investigation into Russian ties in the 2016 presidential campaign.

The final tweet ended with the familiar phrase “WITCH HUNT!”. These public objections against the Russia investigation were published in the morning of White House communications director Hope Hicks’ meeting with the House Intelligence Committee later Tuesday.

During her closed-door appearance with the House Intelligence Committee, Hicks would not answer questions regarding her time in the White House and the presidential transition, according to CNN.

The New York Times said, Hicks acknowledged that under Trump’s office she has been occasionally required to tell white lies.

The private testimony lasted more than 8 hours, with Hicks insisting she had told the truth about matters regarding the Russian investigation.
