Autumn is in full swing…and we might have a new reason to collect leaves. According to scientists, metallic fragments have been sticking to tree leaves. These fragments originate as pollutants and are usually emitted by vehicles. However, this phenomenon could help city officials target highly polluted areas. Studies showed that leaves collected from transportation routes were up to ten times more magnetic than those gathered from quiet streets. These findings offer a practical alternative to expensive research methods.
