Going Green After Death

Many Americans are going green… even after they’ve died. That’s because the number of green burials is growing in this country. A green burial doesn’t use toxic preserving chemicals, metal caskets or concrete burial vaults. Instead, the deceased are placed in a blanket or biodegradable container. Although this is cheaper than a standard burial, some are hesitant to part with tradition. But as the demand for eco-friendly funerals increases, cemeteries and funeral homes are expanding their green options.
