The Golden State may be moving backwards in the fight against global warming. A campaign has been launched to suspend California’s global warming law. Four years ago, the law was passed as a way to bring the state’s greenhouse gas emissions back down to levels seen in the 1990s. But Republican politicians and conservative activists claim the bill is a job-killer. They expect endorsements of their initiative to come from around the country. In the next two weeks, the group will begin collecting money and signatures. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger opposes the initiative and claims it will keep the state from being #1 in creating clean tech jobs.
