Scientists working at Vancouver’s Olympic doping lab say so far so good. They have reported athletes’ test results have come back negative so far. Over 200 blood and urine tests have been submitted and the lab will continue until all athletes are tested. That would be 2000 samples by this Friday.
The facility is being held inside the Richmond Oval on-site at the Olympic venues. Screening begins during the day when athletes deposit a sample which a courier takes to the lab by courier for the overnight staff to process paperwork and initial screenings.
Test results are complete within 24 hours as required by the International Olympic Committee and scientists are working around the clock to meet a quick turn around time.
