Former president Bill Clinton underwent successful heart surgery on Thursday. He had two stints placed inside blood vessels around his heart.
They are small metal scaffolding devices used to treat blocked or narrow arteries. Six years ago Mr. Clinton had a quadruple bypass. So when he had chest pains there were worries that he had a heart attack. But it is believed he had angina–caused by a blocked artery. The former president is now home in New York.
