The Independent Designer’s Market is Soho meets Boston’s South End. Every Saturday you can take a trip to the Benjamin Franklin Institute of Technology to scope out the creations of Boston bound designers. This ultimate retail shopping experience places you right in the middle of a multiple room gallery filled with all things artistic. From paintings and photography to clothing and jewelry you can meet your inner artist.
The idea for a New York fashion venue in Boston came from designer Kimberly V. Benson. Ms. Benson is originally from the big apple and founded her own clothing line “Heretic City.” She is passionate about all things urban and believes Boston is definitely ready for fashion.
The showcase is a total hands on experience. Many of the designer trends capture innovative styles like Claudia Bruno’s Steam Punk and Neo-Victorian jewelry line. She features bracelets made out of clock pieces and rings made with actual keys from typewriters.
Amy Rose’s jewelry is designed under the name of “Vintage Fuss.” She is a self-taught designer and has created an accessory line inspired by jewels you would find in your mother’s or even grandmother’s jewelry box. From belts to bangles “Vintage Fuss” is a vibrant and classic line where accessories can be custom made and personalized.
The Independent Designer’s Market is running every Saturday from 1:30 – 6 PM right up till Christmas time. It makes Saturdays chic andthe designer tables change as the seasons do.
