Today at Lindsey Chapel on Boston’s Newbury Street, Firas Yousif revealed his 2014 Bridal and Evening Couture Collection. An intimate crowd came to support his collection debut that proved metallics are the hot new trend. Colors were also important to Yousif.
“In this specific collection, I was inspired by color specifically, so I was attracted to specific colors and that’s what I designed around.”
Yousif finds that living and working in Boston have helped him become successful.
“I would always want Boston as my base. I find it very inspiring to be in this area, especially in the Back Bay.”
The gowns provoked an emotional response from the crowd, and they even inspired some people to do a little future planning of their own as model Adria Cicilini told WEBN.
“Obviously I love doing bridal because the gowns are so gorgeous and then you get to look at everyone else’s gowns and, you know, when you decide to get married, you go ‘oh that’s the one I wanted!’”
Model Lealyn Macalister added, “This is just a wonderful experience and it’s just great to be a part of it.”
Audience member Marilyn Connors described the collection to WEBN as “Oh, it was just exquisite! The fashions were fabulous…all the detail and attention to the beadwork…it was just magnificent!”
Yousif plans to expand his business to New York City and Paris.
