The ALCS is tied up again.

Tonight, the Tigers team executed its game plan to perfection and took home the victory.  Detroit mixed things up by taking a different approach to its lineup, leading to a 7-3 win over Boston.

Leadoff hitter Austin Jackson was moved to the eight spot in the lineup and Torii Hunter was switched to the leadoff spot.  This change worked as Jackson broke out of his hitting slump and went 2-for-2.

Detroit dominated Red Sox pitcher Jake Peavy. Peavy struggled early on, walking in the first run and allowing five hits.  The Tigers scored five runs in the bottom of the second while the Red Sox were held scoreless through the first five innings before pushing a run across.

It was a big night for Jacoby Ellsbury who went 4-for-5 for Boston, but David Ortiz and Dustin Pedroia combined to go 1-10.  The Red Sox lack of offense and pitching troubles allowed for Detroit to even up the series at 2-2.

Game five of the ALCS will be played tonight at 8 pm in Detroit.
