It was deja vu.

The Maple Leafs didn’t get a chance to redeem themselves tonight. The Boston Bruins defeated the Toronto Maple Leafs 3-1 in a rematch of Game 7 of last year’s Eastern Conference Quarterfinals.
Zdeno Chara put the Bruins on the board first when he scored on a power play. This was Chara’s third power play goal of the season.

In the second period Toronto tied up the game with a shot from Joffrey Lupul that snuck past goaltender Tukka Rask.

Early in the third period, Patrice Bergeron scored the go ahead goal for the Bruins on a power play. Bergeron then scored the third and final goal on an empty net with 22 seconds left in the game.

Rask had 33 saves in goal for the Bruins and James Reimer had 31 saves in the net for Toronto.

The Bruins and Maple Leafs will face off three more times this season, once more in Boston and twice in Toronto.
