Sylvester Stallone is in the director’s chair. It would be easy to assume this movie is nothing less than a glorious tribute to the military might of the USA. “Homefront” is actually a movie about a father protecting his daughter from a meth dealer.
To be more accurate, “Homefront” is a mediocre movie about the absurdly likeable Jason Statham protecting his daughter (Izabela Vidovic) from a meth dealer (James Franco).
The film contains absolutely no surprises. If you have seen any other action movie starring Jason Statham or Sly Stallone, you should be able to guess every single twist and predict the ending of every scene.
The action is admittedly top-tier along with a variety of explosions to keep the average viewer awake. But other than a few bloody faces and well-choreographed stunts “Homefront” is entirely unremarkable.
If you are absolutely dying to see meth dealers battle police officers this weekend, stay home and re-watch “Breaking Bad” on Netflix.
