Patriots Work Magic to Beat Houston Texans

New England Patriots fan are wondering if they are the comeback kids or if it’s Déjà vu. Neither. The New England Patriots are just that good.The Patriots worked their magic again on Sunday – this time against the Houston Texans. Heading into halftime, it looked like a repeat of last Sunday’s game as the Pats were down by 10. The ending score was all New England, though. The Patriots came back to win 34-31.

The Texans entered the game with a 2-9 record and an undrafted quarterback. Houston scored first on a Ben Tate touchdown run.

Tom Brady responded by finding Rob Gronkowski for a 23-yard touchdown. That cut the Texans lead to 3. In the third quarter, Shane Vereen scored his first touchdown of the season.

A few minutes remained in the third quarter as the Patriots trailed 21-17. Case Keenum scrambled 5-yards for a Houston touchdown.

A nine-play drive in the fourth was capped off by a seven-yard touchdown run by LeGarrette Blount. This gave New England a 28-24 lead. Just minutes were left in the game as Brady led the Pats down field and set up a 53-yard field goal brought in by Stephen Gostkowski. That gave the Pats a 34-31 lead.

The win improves New England’s record to 9-3. They are candidates for one of the two top seeds in the AFC in the last four weeks of the season. The loss drops the Texans’ record to 2-10.
