The Red Sox are ready to get back to baseball.
Boston will open its season on Monday with a 3-game series in Baltimore against the Orioles.
Jon Lester will be matching up with Chris Tillman in the opener. This will be the 4th straight season where Lester is the Red Sox opening day starter.
In the 2nd game, John Lackey squares off against the recently acquired Ubaldo Jimenez, and Felix Doubront takes the ball for the 3rd game against Wei-Yin Chen.
Opening day hasn’t been too kind to Boston in its history. The Red Sox are an all-time 55-57-1 on the seasons’ first day.
One player to watch for will be Grady Sizemore who has been named the teams center fielder to start the season. Sizemore last appeared in a Major League game in 2011, but an impressive spring won him the job.
