First Lady Michelle Obama on Thursday urged Massachusetts voters to get out and vote for democratic candidate Martha Coakley.

Mrs. Obama’s visit to Dorchester’s historic Strand Theatre was one of the final pushes for the Coakley campaign as the 2014 election approaches.

Several Massachusetts key political figures were in attendance and endorsed Coakley including Governor Deval Patrick, Mayor Marty Walsh and City Councilor at Large Ayanna Pressely.

The guest of honor energized the crowd with a passionate speech praising Coakley’s accomplishments. The First Lady said, “If you want a governor who will stand up to powerful interests, if you want a governor who is truly on your side, then you need to elect Martha.”

Coakley is tied with Republican candidate Charlie Baker, according to recent polls.

The upcoming election is Tuesday, November 2.
