Mayor Walsh Informs Boston of City Expectations Regarding the Super Bowl

By Melanie Camacho 01-30-14

Boston’s Mayor and police officials encouraged residents to be safe on Super Bowl Sunday in a press conference Friday.

“We are taking steps to ensure a safe and fun Super Bowl, ” said the Mayor.

Boston Police are stepping up their game too- enforcing the pre-existing alcohol and rules for everybody. As for students, the Boston Police are leaving it up to the Dean of Students from local colleges for appropriate action. But this hasn’t stopped the Boston Police from encouraging schools to warn their students about temptations and the chaos revolving around the popular event.

Additionally, there will be several parking restrictions throughout the city. Kenmore, Brighton area, Northeastern, Faneuil Hall, and North Station areas will close too in the early afternoon.

Boston Police highly recommend to pay attention to the signs around the city in regards to parking and suggests to take public transportation and to never drink and drive.
