Alex Rodriguez Returns for Yankees

Alex Rodriguez has returned to the Yankees, after being suspended for all of the 2014 season for his involvment with the Performance Enhancing Drug clinic Biogenesis.

Rodriguez, who will turn 40 in July, is just one of several question marks on this Yankees team.  He hasn’t played since the 2013 season, and the team has no idea how he will hold up in 2015.

If the Yankees are going to be successful, the team is going to have to stay healthy.

If the Yankees are going to be successful, the team is going to have to stay healthy.

Rodriguez hasn’t been the same since his streak of 13 consecutive seasons of at least 30 home runs and 100 RBIs was snapped after the 2011 season.

He hasn’t hit more than 18 home runs, and hasn’t driven in more than 62 runs in a season since 2010; but the Yankees are holding out hope Rodriguez can be a steady contributor.

WFAN New York Yankees beat reporter Sweeny Murti says the Yankees 2015 success will depend on the team’s durability.

“It really depends on how healthy they stay,” Murti tells WEBN.  “There are a lot of teams in (the AL East) that have a lot of question marks.  The Yankees have many too, maybe more than some of the others because some of their players are older.  It’s really just going to be on how healthy they are when the bell rings on opening day and see how they stack up.”
