Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog Announce Their Break Up
By Hannah Perrin 8/05/2015
Miss Piggy and Kermit the Frog are splitting up after 40 years. The conference was held in promotion for the former couple’s new docu-style sitcom on the Network.
Though the duo will be splitting, Kermit said he still plans to be the Executive Producer for Piggy’s new show, “Up Late with Miss Piggy.”
“Piggy and I have gone our separate ways romantically,” Kermit stated. “It can be tough to work with your ex. It can be tough to be the executive producer on your ex’s late-night TV show, especially when your ex is a pig. I don’t know whether any of you have ever dated pigs.”
As Kermit assured the crowd they were both “professional adults,” Miss Piggy interjected saying, “One of us is certainly professional. You can guess who that is, I’m sure. I have no problem working my ex, okay? It’s fine. It’s totally healed.”
“Dating moi is like flying close to the sun. It was inevitable that Kermit would drop down to he ground while I stayed in the heavens,” continued Piggy.
The couple also released a joint statement on their Facebook pages:
“After careful thought, thoughtful consideration and considerable squabbling, we have made the difficult decision to terminate our romantic relationship. We will continue to work together on television and in all media now known or hereafter devised, in perpetuity, throughout the universe. However, our personal lives are no distinct and separate, and we will be seeing other people, pigs frogs, et al. This is our only comment on this private mater … unless we get the right offer. Thank you for your understanding.
