NBC Has Found Its Dorothy

NBC has officially found its Dorothy for upcoming production of “The Wiz Live!” Shanice Williams, an 18-year-old newcomer from New Jersey, has landed the part.
Williams has five years of experiences in local productions such as “West Side Story,” “42nd Street,” “Pippin,” and other titles.
Though Williams is a newcomer, she will be joined on stage by some pretty big names. Queen Latifah will be playing The Wiz, Mary J. Blige will be playing the Wicked Witch of the West and David Alan Grier will be playing the Cowardly Lion.
“The Wiz Live!” is set to air on December 3.
