Bruins Hit the Ice in Wake of Sunday Opener

By Joshua Powers 9/21/2015
Training camp has opened and the Bruins are on the ice before their pre-season opener Sunday in Providence against the New Jersey Devils.
If you attend training camp, you may notice that the team is huge. Sixty players have taken the ice for the Bruins this year, and many of them will end up in Providence. But for the time being, there are three sessions that the public can take in.
The first session of lines and defensive pairings put David Pastrnak, David Krejci and Matt Beleskey together. With this portion of camp being used for players to exhibit their skills, it can also be said that this is a huge opportunity for the three of them to learn communication skills, and build the on ice trust.
When the second session hits the ice, the 2015 first round draft pick Zach Senyshyn will hit the ice with Patrice Bergeron and Brad Marchand. Senyshyn had the following to say:
“Just kind of taking time away from their skate to really take us under their wing. And I think them talking to me, personally, and really helping me through my first skate, gets a little bit of the nerves out of the way. And as I said, [I was] kind of playing with a little more confidence out there when they’re really helping you out.”
The Bruins will also have five goaltenders attending the beginning of training camp in 2015. Besides Tukka Rask and Jeremy Smith, who are the obvious choices to stay in Boston come game one, fans can also watch Zane McIntyre, Matt Ginn and Dan Vladar get their reps in.
Most practice sessions are open to the general public, and the schedule can be found at bruins.nhl.com. Practice times vary from 10am-2pm depending on the day.
