Under-Rated Fantasy Quarterbacks

Derek Carr is leading the young and potent Raiders offense. Carr has had an impressive year so far earning him a starting spot in 65.5% of ESPN fantasy leagues. Carr has already thrown 21 touchdown passes matching his last year’s total. He has thrown for three or more touchdowns in four separate games. The Raiders face the Lions in Week 11 who have given up multiple throwing touchdowns to opposing quarterbacks in three straight contest. Carr is also making fewer mistakes as he has only thrown 6 interceptions. Not only is Carr finding the end zone with less interceptions but has thrown for 300+ passing yards in five games this season. Lately Carr has gone on a tear the past three games with over 900 passing yards along with 10 touchdowns. Billie Joe Armstrong would be proud. Carr is owned in 82.6% of fantasy leagues and is a reliable start for Week 11.

Blake Bortles has increased significantly from last season. He has become more comfortable with wide receivers Allen Robinson and Allen Hurns. So far this season Bortles has already thrown for 2,381 yards in 10 games compared to last season’s 2,908 yards in 16 games. The Jaguars are squaring off against the Titans don’t have the strongest secondary in the league giving up 6 multiple touchdown games to opposing quarterbacks. From last season Bortles is making better decisions shown by his touchdown to interception ratio at 19-11 compared to last season’s 11-19. Bortles is owned in 75% of ESPN fantasy leagues as he would be a viable replacement option for a quarterback who is on a BYE or even struggling.

Tyrod Taylor fits the job well as the Buffalo Bills offense. The Bills average about 30 rushes a game while only throwing about 29 passes a game, but when Taylor does throw the ball he completes it 70% of the time. With an impressive touchdown to interception ratio of 11 to 4, Taylor’s productivity is immense to the Bills offense. Taylor is also continuing to build off the ferocious Bill’s run game incorporating the ball action deep ball which could be a deadly combo with Sammy Watkins on the outside. Taylor hasn’t thrown for a lot of yards this season, 1,436, but he makes it up with his feet as he averages 35 yards on the ground a game. Taylor’s most impressive stat is his QBR of 106.2 which is third in the NFL only behind Tom Brady and Carson Palmer, not bad company. Taylor is owned in only 54.4% of ESPN fantasy leagues as he would be a last resort option at the QB position this week against the Patriots.
