Swing states change the course of the election, and Hillary Clinton intends on winning one of the most important ones, Florida. Hillary Clinton’s campaign aired a new commercial against Donald Trump.
The commercial intends to win over conservative voters in Florida. Posted by Access Hollywood, the video displays Trump speaking about his disrespectful behavior with women, according to media monitoring firm Kantar/CMAG.
“Last Straw,” which is the name of the commercial, features Don McVaugh, a Republican Air Force veteran. After he had heard Donald Trump’s conversation about sexual assault in the 2005 tape, McVaugh decided to cast his ballot for Clinton. “I spent 22 years in the Air Force, and I was a Republican for every one of them. I was rationalizing Donald Trump’s behaviors until I heard that tape,” he says, “That was the last straw.”
“I don’t want my granddaughter thinking it is ok to be treated that way and grandson growing up thinking that is how you should treat women. That scares me; that scares me a lot,” McVaugh says.
The new ad combines shots of McVaugh, in an Air Force hat and jacket, playing with his grandchildren and Trump getting of the Access Hollywood bus. There is a headline under Trump: “Trump Brags of Groping Women.”
“So Hillary’s got my vote,” he said. “We don’t see eye to eye on everything, but she’s strong, and I respect her, and she is someone that my grandkids can respect, too.”
Clinton aides said that they don’t expect to win North Florida because President Obama only won four counties in 2012. They expect to recover the Republican North Florida votes with the heavily populated Democratic Southeastern part of the state.
The Trump campaign didn’t respond to a request for comment on the ad.
