After an exciting eight weeks, the New England Patriots are taking a break from the field having a bye this week. The team has won seven out of the last eight games and currently has the best winning record in the league.
In a weekly press conference on Wednesday, head coach Bill Belichick answered questions concerning the Patriots. The main focus of the conference addressed the team’s plans for the bye week and questions about the recent trade of Jamie Collins.
Belichick stated that this week is “a good opportunity for our team to improve” and that this week will “give the players a well deserved break.” The team is fresh off a 41-25 point win against the Buffalo Bills and has only lost one game this year.
The team will take advantage of their time off to prepare for their upcoming home game against the Seattle Seahawks, currently the No. 1 team in the NFC West. The last time the Patriots played the Seahawks was the 2015 Superbowl, which the Patriots won.
Reporters asked for Belicheck to follow up Monday’s trade of linebacker Jamie Collins to the Cleveland Browns. Belicheck responded by saying that he does not have any information to add and that the situation has already been addressed. He also stated that it was a “bottom of the line” decision and that it is what is best for the team.
