Over 250 city homeless veterans will be getting housing, recovery treatment, and job opportunities, thanks to a $2.4 million dollar federal grant.

Boston Mayor Marty Walsh has underscored the need for this additional support, “To best set up our residents for success with housing, we have a multi-faceted support system in place and provide them with the wraparound services necessary to get on their feet and stay on their feet.”
The Boston Public Health Commission (BPHC) and Pine Street Inn will provide permanent housing, behavioral health resources and treatment, and access to a citywide jobs network.
This grant is part of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Service Administration (SAMHSA) $121 million initiative to provide support and treatment to those suffering from substance abuse and other mental disorders.
