According to The New York Times media mogul Harvey Weinstein has been the subject of a 30-year long investigation into women’s allegations of sexual harassment and sexual assault.

The Times reports that the allegations were documented through “interviews with current and former employees and film industry workers, as well as legal records, emails and internal documents from Weinstein’s businesses, Miramax and the Weinstein Company.”

Among several women making allegations, well known actresses such as Angelina Jolie and Gwenyth Paltrow came out on Tuesday stating they were sexually harassed by the hollywood producer.

Over the years, Weinstein has hosted several fundraisers in connection with high profile politicians such as the Clintons and Obamas.

A Clinton spokesman told CNN that Hillary said she was “shocked” and “appalled” by the revelations about Harvey Weinstein. Clinton added that the behavior described by women coming forward cannot be tolerated. Several Democratic politicians are either returning Weinstein’s political donations or giving them to charity. Former president Barack Obama however, has yet to say what he will do.
Weinstein has been a major Democratic Party donor with former  Secretary of State Hillary Clinton as his biggest beneficiary.
