The Celtics plans for a big season unraveled in the first six minutes of their first game. Newly acquired small forward Gordon Hayward fractured tibia and dislocated his ankle in his left leg during last night’s season opener against the Cleveland Cavaliers.  He suffered the gruesome injury after going up for an alley-oop pass, and colliding with LeBron James.

Hayward arrived in Boston this season with high expectations, joining former Cleveland Cavalier Kyrie Irving as new members of the green.

Hayward is expected to undergo surgery soon and the organization wishes to have him back sooner than later, hoping he might be able to join the team for the playoffs.
