Los Angeles Police Begin Investigation on Harvey Weinstein

Harvey Weinstein is under investigation by the Los Angeles Police Department for the alleged rape of an Italian model-actress.
The victim described the alleged incident that occurred in a Beverly Hills hotel in 2013 when she spoke to the Los Angeles Times. She claimed that Weinstein arrived at her hotel room uninvited and forced his way into the room. She said that, after becoming more aggressive, he raped her in the bathroom.
The victim told Los Angeles Times that Weinstein “acted like nothing happened” right after the incident and invited her to his parties. The victim did not report anything at the time because she was afraid but she recently found the courage after she spoke about the incident with her teenage daughter.
The allegation is one of many against Weinstein that has come to light recently, most being from well-known actresses. This alleged incident happened within the 10-year statute of limitations and could lead to criminal charges against Weinstein, which was not the case for the majority of allegations that are now over a decade old.
Weinstein was fired from his own company, as the accusations multiplied, and was removed from the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences. But his spokeswoman maintained that Weinstein “unequivocally denies allegations of nonconsensual sex.”
