Talent agent says networking is the key to a Hollywood success

“It’s not all glitz and glamour. You get over that pretty quickly. It’s work. When you’re on set, you’re there, you have to be on, you have to be prepared, you have to know exactly what your purpose is and what your added value is.”

Lucas Kosoglad has worked in the entertainment industry for over 10 years.
After college, Kosoglad began a career in entertainment journalism. However, after his friends kept asking him why he wasn’t their agent, Kosoglad decided to switch career paths.

Today, Kosoglad represents people like Rita Moreno, Jane Seymour and more for Innovative Artists Talent and Literary Agency. The agency has eight clients nominated for Emmy awards this year.

Kosoglad describes his industry as “a people business.”
He says, “I love people. That’s my talent. It’s working with people, communication, it’s using all of your skills all the time. I’m not the most creative person, so it’s fantastic to be able to cultivate that and use my skills to work with those people.”

He also stressed the importance of building up a network and how it comes with patience. He says “you really need to develop relationships, which can take a lifetime.”
