The Bruins brought hockey back to Boston on Monday, reminding the Ottawa Senators that TD Garden is their house. The B’s picked up their second win of the season 6-3 thanks to Patrice Bergeron’s 4th career hat trick.
Just thirty seconds into the game, Bergeron put the B’s on the board, jamming in a puck off a drive-by David Pastrnak. Bergy netted a powerplay goal late in the first to double the lead. After Ottawa cut the Boston lead in half, the Bruins got it right back. Walpole’s Chris Wagner scoring his first as a Bruin, tipping home a shot from Charlie McAvoy.
Bergeron completed his hat-trick minutes later. Pastrnak netted a late 3rd-period goal off assists from Zdeno Chara and Bergeron. Pastrnak scored an empty-netter with 1:38 remaining to secure the 6-3 victory.
