The Boston College Eagles improved to 5-2 on the season after beating Louisville 38-20 in a rainy affair from Alumni Stadium.

The Eagles jumped out to a 14-0 thanks to a Ben Glines rushing touchdown and Hunter Long scoring. It looked like the Eagles would win this one easily, but a Glines fumble inside his own 5 and Michael Walker fumble led to 13 Cardinals points. A Jawon Pass rushing touchdown early in the second quarter gave Louisville a 20-14 advantage. The BC defense would step up, not allowing Louisville to score in the game final 39:37. A blocked punt and a David Bailey rushing TD was all BC needed en route to their first victory of the year.

Bailey, a B.C. freshman, more than doubled his season total rushing for 112 yards. He was filling in for injured star AJ Dillon and is the third BC running back to gain 100 yards in a game this season along with Dillon and Glines. Glines also went over the century mark in this one rushing for 107 yards. Anthony Brown was solid for the Eagles, going 16-22 for 179 yards and a touchdown. Pass was the Cardinals’ best statistical player, throwing for 170 yards and rushing for a TD. However, Pass did throw a key interception in the second quarter.

Boston College heads into its bye week before 16th ranked Miami comes to Alumni Stadium two Fridays from now. The Hurricanes are 5-1 and looking to win out for a chance to make the College Football Playoff. BC hopes to have Dillon ready for the highly anticipated matchup.  Louisville falls to 2-5 on the season and will host Wake Forest next weekend.
