It was a golden night for Golden State’s Klay Thompson.  He had a record-breaking game Monday night when he drained 14 three-pointers. Thompson surpassed teammate Stephen Curry’s current NBA 3-point record. Thompson totaled 52 points for the game, more than half of which were 3-pointers. The Warriors won the game 149-124 over the Chicago Bulls.

Although Thompson got off to a bit of a slow start this season, Monday night’s game more than made up for it. Not even a cut over his right eye that required a couple stitches could slow him down, getting back in the game just minutes later. While Curry, Kevin Durant, and Alfonzo McKinnie all had good nights, but Thompson was in another world.

Thompson attributed his success to his teammates. “That’s why we play basketball. It’s a collective effort. And I don’t know if I would be able to break these records I have gotten in my past like tonight without the system I play in or the team I play with.”
