The “angels” hit the runway once again in this year’s Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show. The show, taped on Nov. 8, appeared on ABC on Dec. 2 at 2 p.m. New York City’s Pier 94 hosted the runway show, the first time in two years that the show was held in America.

At this year’s show, there were seven different segments including “Glam Royale,” “Golden Angel,” “Flights of Fancy,” “PINK,” “Heritage,” “Downtown Angel” and “Celestial Angel.”

Victoria’s Secret welcomed back models like Kendall Jenner, Candice Swanepoel, Winnie Harlow, Gigi Hadid, Behati Prinsloo, and Elsa Hosk. The models strutted the runway in different types of lingerie and sleepwear. Lingerie ranged from floral to plaid to multi-colored pieces, Outrageous but mystical wings adorned the models as they continued to strut the runway.

One piece that stuck out was the $1 million Swarovski crystallized bra worn by Elsa Hosk.

Musical guests performed on the runway during the show. Performers included Leela James, The Chainsmokers with Kelsea Ballerini, Halsey, Bebe Rexha, Shawn Mendes, Rita Ora, and The Struts.

The show ended with model Adriana Lima strutting the walkway solo to the tune of “Praise You” by Fatboy Slim. It was a bittersweet moment for Lima who teared up for her final walk on the Victoria’s Secret runway as she is retiring from the brand.

While the show came with glitz and glamour, it also faced backlash due to recent remarks made from chief marketing director Edward Razek. After the show taped, Razek commented that transgender and plus sized models would not be included in the show because “the show is a fantasy.” These remarks sparked outrage with the public including singer Halsey who posted on Instagram calling out the show for its failure of inclusivity.

Because of this, the show only brought in an audience of 3.3 million, down from the 5 million from last year. There have been talks about new management for the brand but no decisions have been made yet.

For audiences who missed the taping, Victoria’s Secret will air the show again on their website on Dec. 11.
