Anthony Lynn is as gutsy as it gets. The Chargers second-year head coach held up two fingers to go for a two-point conversion to win the game.
This followed Mike Williams‘ touchdown with four seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. The Chargers two-point try was successful giving them a 29-28 win over their AFC West rivals. The Chargers improve to 11-3 on the season, tying them with the Chiefs for first in the AFC. The Chiefs currently hold the tiebreaker thanks to a better divisional record.
Chiefs quarterback and likely NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes picked up right where he left off throwing an incredible touchdown pass to Demarcus Robinson while being pushed towards the sideline. The throw caused his counterpart Philip Rivers to say “ I can’t believe that ball.”

The Chiefs looked to be well on their way to their 12th win following a Damien Williams touchdown to put Kansas City up 28-14 with 8 minutes left to play. Philip Rivers would lead a furious comeback with Justin Jackson and Mike Williams scoring TDs to make it a one-point game. As mentioned, Anthony Lynn chose to go for two instead of playing for overtime and it worked giving the Chargers an improbable victory.

The Chargers have put together an impressive run with road victories at Seattle, Pittsburgh, and now Kansas City. The Chargers head home to take on the Ravens next Saturday before finishing their season at Denver. Next weekend the Chiefs go to Seattle before finishing their season at home against the Oakland Raiders. The race for the AFC West and the home-field advantage in the AFC playoffs will be an interesting race to watch down the stretch.
