The Boston College Eagles cemented their spot in this year’s Beanpot championship game.

BC beat the Harvard Crimson 2-1 at TD Garden on Monday night.

Harvard started the night off strong by pressuring the Boston College defense and registering a couple of early shots against Eagles goaltender Joseph Woll.

However, the Eagles responded to the Crimson’s quick start as freshman Patrick Giles netted his first career goal 4:57 into the game.

Harvard equalized the score at the 15:37 mark of the second period courtesy of a Henry Bowlby goal that tied the game, 1-1.

Bowlby’s goal was not enough to spark Harvard’s offense as Jack McBain roofed the game-winning goal for the Eagles with just over 7 minutes to play.

The Eagles finished the night 0-6 on the power play, and the Crimson went 0-5.

Lackey made 16 saves for Harvard. Woll had 27 for Boston College.

The Eagles will meet the reigning-champion Northeastern Huskies in the 67th edition of the Beanpot championship game next Monday at TD Garden. Harvard will face-off against the Boston University Terriers in the consolation game.
