BC Men’s Basketball Beats Miami

Former Boston College men’s basketball player Bill Curley was honored at halftime, as the Eagles took down the Miami Hurricanes on Sunday, 64-57. for their 13th win of the season. Curley was welcomed back to the Conte Forum with a very warm ovation as he saw his jersey unveiled in the rafters. Curley played all four years with BC and accumulated over 2000 2,102 career points with the Eagles. In what It was a special night for both Emerson College and Boston College basketball, as Curley is the head coach at the nearby downtown Division III program.

As for the game, Boston College was lead by Jordan Chatman who recorded his 1000th point of his career midway through the 2nd half. All night long the Eagles defense caused the Hurricanes all kinds of trouble by on the defensive side of the ball only allowing 57 points and 37% shooting from the field. In addition, Miami’s leading scorer, Chris Lykes was never able to find his stroke, only scoring 10 points, well below his season average of 17.1.

Although Bowman was also not able to provide an offensive spark for the Eagles, BC was able to find other options of scoring both through Jordan Chatman and Nik Popovic. The Eagles improve to 13-11 and will continue ACC play later this week as they travel to North Carolina to take on NC State. For the Eagles, it is their fourth win in conference and possibly a momentum builder as they look to end their season on a high note before entering the conference tournament.
