New Baltimore Orioles Manager Brandon Hyde is taking steps to connect with his players.

“To create relationships, you’ve got to invest time,” Hyde said. “I feel like our coaches have done a great job being available and being positive.”

Hyde does not put all of the responsibility for building a relationship on the staff. “We try to do a couple things here and there team wise.I think that’s helped,” Dixon said. “We got buy in from veteran guys, that’s a huge part.”

“Creating a positive atmosphere has been the biggest key so far,” Hyde said. “I feel like we’ve done that and we’re off to a good start there in that way.”

Hyde replaces Buck Showalter as Orioles manager. Hyde was previously the bench coach, director of player development and first base coach for the Chicago Cubs.
