Students over at Sarah Greenwood K-8 Center in Dorchester got a major surprise today when “Big Papi” David Ortiz dropped by for a visit to give out baseball hats. It is all part of a collaboration between the Boston Red Sox and JetBlue to kick off their annual city-wide donation to Boston Public School students and staff. This year over 46,000 baseball hats were distributed to more than 100 schools.

The students were also greeted by Wally the Green Monster, Boston Mayor Marty Walsh and representatives from the Red Sox and JetBlue.

The donation is part of the “Calling All Kids” club, whose effort is to connect baseball to the next generation of fans.
