Angels Pitcher Tyler Skaggs Honored In First Game After His Death
By Max Cohen 7/2/29
Even with his passing, Tyler Skaggs’ impact could still be seen on the mound. The Rangers painted his number 45 behind the pitcher’s rubber to honor him. There was also a moment of silence before the game and Rangers players refrained from using walk-up music.
The Angels plan to wear No. 45 patches the remainder of the season. Washington Nationals pitcher Patrick Corbin swapped out his usual No. 46 for 45 in his start to pay tribute to his best friend and former teammate.
The cause of Skagg’s death is still under investigation. He had gotten married last December.
