President Trump’s Reelection Campaign Reaches Fundraising Record

President Trump’s campaign and the Republican National Committee raised $125 million during the third quarter of the year. This was a presidential fundraising record.
In total, President Trump’s campaign has raised $300 million alone this year. This is double the total that the Democratic Party raised in 2011 during President Obama’s reelection bid.
The campaign claims that the ongoing impeachment inquiry by House Democrats helped instigate the fundraising haul. As the fundraising amount was announced, pro-Trump efforts launched their first major advertising campaign. President Trump’s team aims to donate $1 billion towards his reelection.
As House Democrats commenced their impeachment effort last week, the RNC announced it would spend $2 million on a cable ad fighting the impeachment inquiry. The campaign also said it was spending $8 million to hit former Vice President Joe Biden while criticizing Democrats focus on the Ukraine scandal and for their support of impeachment.
The RNC credits Trump supporters to raising record numbers of donations towards Democratic attacks.
“We are investing millions on the airwaves and on the ground to hold House Democrats accountable, highlight their obstruction, and take back the House and reelect President Trump in 2020,” said RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel.
