The Boston Celtics moved to 3-0 in the preseason today after a 118-72 win over the Cavaliers at home. Kemba Walker returned to the lineup after sitting out the team’s last game with knee soreness. He finished the game with 12 points in 16 minutes.

Undrafted rookie Max Strus lead the team in scoring with 14 points off the bench. Strus, who played his college ball at DePaul University, went into this game having just inked a two-year partially-guaranteed contract with the C’s.

Rookie phenom Tacko Fall also secured a spot with the C’s after signing a two-way deal earlier today. Fans shouldn’t expect Fall to see much time during the regular season; however, as he will most likely be designated to the Maine Red Claws of the NBA G-League where he’s expected to see big minutes.

As for the rest of the team, Jayson Tatum struggled from the field shooting just 2-9 with 4 points in 19 minutes while Jaylen Brown contributed a solid 10 points in 15 minutes of play. The stars of the day were by far the members of the team’s young core as they were handed an opportunity to showcase their skills for much of the second half. Most notable of this group were guards Tremont Waters and Carsen Edwards who both chipped in 12 points respectively.

The Celtics face the Cavaliers once again on the road on Tuesday night to conclude the preseason. They open up the regular season against Al Horford and the Philadelphia Sixers on October 23rd.
