Rudy Giuliani, President Trump’s longtime friend and personal attorney, came under fire this week due to his close relationship with two men being investigated federally for campaign finance violations.

This new investigation centers around Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, who donated to republican and pro-Trump PACs in 2018, and are accused of creating a phony company to conceal the real source of their donations.

The investigation has not revealed any direct involvement from Giuliani, but a source close to the case has said all business between Giuliani and the two men is subject to scrutiny.

Giuliani took to CBS News to deny any claims that he was involved or had been interviewed by the FBI, while also insinuating that the investigators leaked information to the media, calling them “politically involved.”

President  Trump took to Twitter Saturday, defending Giuliani from the “one sided witch hunt.”

Due to the ongoing impeachment inquiry, there has been speculation as to whether or not Giuliani is still the president’s lawyer, with Mr. Trump himself telling reporters Friday that he wasn’t sure.
