After improving to 7-0 after their win over the New York Jets on Monday night, the New England Patriots added another weapon to their offense on Tuesday morning.
The New England Patriots acquired wide receiver Mohamed Sanu from the Atlanta Falcons in exchange for a second-round draft pick per ESPN’s Adam Schefter.
According to NFL.com’s Ian Rapport, Sanu has been mentioned as a potential Patriots trade target at other points in the past.
The veteran receiver is in his eighth NFL season and has 33 receptions for 313 yards and one touchdown so far this year.
The addition of Sanu will give the Pats more offensive depth, something they needed with Julian Edelman, Josh Gordon and Phillip Dorsett all on the injury report in recent weeks.
Sanu’s contract extends through the 2020 season.
