11/5/19 By RJ Curreri
The Celtics took down the Cleveland Cavaliers at Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse last night 119-113. This win marks the team’s fifth in a row, all of which have come against Eastern Conference opponents.
The C’s were led by a season-best performance from Gordon Hayward who dropped 39 points, 8 assists, and 7 rebounds, along with a crucial offensive put-back down the stretch. Kemba Walker delivered his fifth consecutive 20-point plus game with 25 points and 8 rebounds, while Jayson Tatum contributed 18 points on 56% shooting.
Notably absent from the lineup once again was Jaylen Brown who continues to suffer from an undisclosed illness and infection. Enes Kanter, who has been battling a minor knee injury, was active but did not see any time on the floor. He is expected to make his return in one of the next two games.
The Celtics play their second of three road games on Thursday in Charlotte when they face Terry Rozier and the Hornets. This is poised to be a big game for Kemba Walker who will make his first return to Charlotte since his departure in the offseason.
