Prosecutors Finally Obtain Trump’s Tax Returns

Former President Donald Trump’s tax returns are now in possession of The Manhattan District Attorney’s Office.
Trump’s emergency application was filed with the Supreme Court in October. Four months later, on Monday, the Supreme Court rejected Trump’s request to shield his taxes, allowing District Attorney Cyrus Vance to enforce a subpoena to obtain them.
“For more than two years, New York City has been looking at almost every transaction I’ve ever done, including seeking tax returns which were done by among the biggest and most prestigious law and accounting firms in the U.S,” Trump said in a statement following the ruling.
The documents were handed over by Trump’s accountants at Mazars USA. The accounting firm shared in a statement, “as we have maintained throughout this process, Mazars will comply with all of its legal and professional obligations.”
Mazars USA says they are aware of the Supreme Court’s order and will fulfill all obligations. However, they cannot discuss any client’s information in a public forum without client consent or as required by law.
