Just 58 days into his presidency, President Joe Biden’s goal of administering 100 million vaccines in his first 100 days has been fulfilled. If you are trying to do the math in your head, that equates to about 2.5 million vaccines per day.

The CDC recently reported that since the onset of the pandemic, over 118 million vaccine doses have been administered. 16.5 million of those doses were given under the Trump administration.

In a press conference on Thursday, while expressing his aspirations for the vaccinations moving forward, Biden urged Americans to do their part, “Wash your hands, stay socially distanced, keep masking up as recommended by the CDC, and get vaccinated when it’s your turn. Now is not the time to let down our guard.”

Though serious, the President remained hopeful that, if the country abides diligently to the social distancing guidelines imposed by the CDC, the U.S. could be returning to some normalcy by the Fourth Of July.

In his words, he hopes to gain, “our independence on Independence Day from the virus.”

President Biden says that he will release his next vaccination rollout goal next week.
