White House secretary Jen Psaki tests positive for COVID-19

The White House press secretary, Jen Psaki, said Sunday that she has tested positive for coronavirus. Psaki is vaccinated and said she’s only experiencing mild symptoms. The diagnosis comes a few days after she was prevented from joining Joe Biden on his European trip because of contact with a family member that tested positive.

Psaki mentioned in her statement that while she had not come in contact with the president or senior members of the White House staff, she is “disclosing today’s positive test out of an abundance of transparency.”

Psaki continues to work from home and plans to return to work in person at the end of the mandated 10-day quarantine.
