Meteorologists have warned Massachusetts residents about the brewing of a coastal storm said to affect the southern New England area this weekend. Although the timing and intensity of the storm are difficult to track, The National Weather Service of Boston says to err on the side of caution and prepare for at least three inches of snow and heavy winds.

This drastic weather shift comes after a mild week with little snowfall Tuesday morning and temperatures hitting the forties. Thursday temperatures are estimated to drop into the single digits, as the storm and potential blizzard are said to hit the area on Friday, continuing all day on Saturday.
