The investigations are still ongoing at the garage collapse that took place in the government center that killed demolition worker Peter Monsini. Questions are now being asked as to what this whole event means for the multi-billion dollar development, the same one Monsini was working on.
The project was named Bulfinch crossing and is a project 10 years in the making in an effort to help transform the overbearing garage into a complex of high rise towers and lab space, while also making a key juncture in the heart of Boston. It is planned to include the world headquarters of State Street Corp. as well as generate thousands of jobs and would generate millions of dollars in taxes and fees.
Work is now on hold at Bulfinch crossing while federal agencies look into the accident that took place last month and no timeline has been provided. It is slated to take a few months but there are chances the project could be back on sooner than that. These sorts of delays often lead to huge financial losses.
